EDFA Module for OCMR Chassis
The Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier Module (EDFAM) has
been designed for CATV, FTTH and CCTV broadband
applications. The EDFAM module forms part of the Light
Link family of products.
This module uses plug-and-play technology to provide a
complete broadband and optical communications solution.
The optical output power options are from 20 mW to 120
mW (13 to 20.8 dBm).
The Light Link® Series 3 EDFAM is designed to extend a
1550 nm CATV fiber system without the need to convert
back to RF. Combined with our LTE150 externally modulat-
ed laser transmitters, system ranges of up to 100 km are
possible.
The high power EDFAM units are used in modern Fiber-To-
The-Home (FTTH) systems, permitting many thousands of
subscriber nodes to be fed from a single laser source.
